This decision is overall hard for me to understand.  Even if they don't really care about the people who are registered for this message board, It's in qvc's best interest to have the board to attract people to it's website - if we're here because of the forums, it's means that we are more likely to hear about products, to browse the website, etc.

@bohogypsy You've been registered since 2010 and have 89 posts?  Then this?  Really?

Ax to grind perhaps?  Ex employee?

@bohogypsy I think you live in an alternative universe if you think what you are discussing is the reason the forums are being taken down.  Really, the comments on the hosts are not that important, except the current ones, that QVC protects, and anything that may incur liability to qvc.

Hosts and vendors and promotions remain when it makes financial sense to the q, not your personal likes and dislikes.

@rms1954    How do you like the classy way that they announced it to the many of us who have supported them for over 30 years?  No explanation, no apology, no nuthin'.  That alone made me furious.

QVC is a business, not your boyfriend. They do not owe us an explanation or permission. Shop here or don't. QVC is a retail store. If you need companionship or emotional support then join a support group or get some therapy. Sorry to sound harsh, but that is the way it is.

@Sooner,

Oh you noticed too!

For years there was a bjried who no matter what anyone was posting about would always insert a deragatory post about Carolyn, mostly about her personal appearance. It was really amazing how it could be about anything and she would obsessively complain about Carolyn. The posts were really mean and insulting.

Lately @bohogypsy, appears once more and here it is-everyone talking about the boards closing and again with putting something (this time more mild and subtle about Carolyn). Very creepy and very noticeable.

I was so glad when these posts left but here they are again.

One thing I definitely will not miss.

IMO, the days of shopping from TV are numbered.  Unless they radically change--better products, presentations, shipping, etc., all of them will be gone in a few years.  They were great when they first started and stores did not have their own websites.  Life has drastically changed in the past 35 years and the shopping networks have not.  It was fun while it lasted, but life moves on.

"Easy Pay" plans are a BOOMING new business "model"....we are just used to it from shopping on QVC or HSN...

That's what their social media is for, and the model every retailer is using. FB, Instagram Lives etc, with over 3mil followers?...that's where they expect they can drive people to their website and products.

This is a business which needs to meet and exceed numbers, constantly, ie. a business decision.

Not saying I won't miss all the various topics to peruse and discuss here; I will. I will definitely miss the community of "shoppers" and all their ideas, input, info on all things related to shopping and products, both here and elsewhere in the marketplace. I've always wondered how that served the Q, in that many, many other ideas for shopping elsewhere and better deals are often discussed. Much as I still shop the Q, and much as I've comparison shopped without getting advice here...I've also gotten many ideas that drove me elsewhere from here. That doesn't serve QVC. I mean I suppose on FB people can make comments that give others ideas to go elswhere too. All food for thought to me. I'd love to be a fly on the wall, or perhaps if it was discussed in shareholders meeting....I only ever once sat in on one of those, many moons ago. Don't even remember how I did it.

Anyhoo..

I do wish there was a safe and similar alternative to FB, which is not the same format and wouldn't be a good replacement for what I used this site for.

I saw that Delphi site, which is secure, but I did not log onto Wisteria Lane because others said it wasn't. I'm on an iPad, btw, if that matters regarding security.

@RealtyGal2,

Yet QVC has tried to promote their shopping experience as a place to hang out, i.e. "friends" having wine together while shopping, encouraging hosts to talk about themselves or family so we will feel part of their circle. David in the kitchen saying he is not a chef but just like us at home etc.

I think QVC is trying desperately to find it's market and mistakenly keeps knocking off a large part of it, thinking

they should appeal to a more youthful set of customers. I for one know no one young or old who shops at QVC.

There are so many better places with more quality value and convenience.

The ones who are very loyal are probably a lot of the ones right here on these forums and thousands who read but don't post.

Anyway, it's a shame all around but things do change. I just don't think QVC gets how to change for the better.

Its not about QVC it's about friendships formed and the many years of being able to come here -- good bad or indifferent!

None of us to my knowledge can solve or answer how QVC operates...

Please realize to some this is "more" than just posting.

@homedecor1 I totally agree!  For some of us it's just a way to connect & chat...for others it goes even deeper.   For most of us it's the sense of community!

However when I wrote to the new CEO asking that he reconsider and keep the forum open I mentioned what was most important to him...the bottom line.  I said that many of us (me included) make purchases from the discoveries & discussions that we see here.  Once this is gone, I will probably make many less purchases at QVC.
