Re: Liz Claiborne - some changes are coming!

I enjoyed her presentations with Mary Beth. I am sorry to see her move to Northern Nights which I will probably never watch her presenting. The quality of Northern Nights went downhill. I hope she finds a way to bring it back to what it used to be.

That's the truth of it, for most items with vendor reps. They're just paid by the company to be a sales face and that's it. No more expert or part of the company than anyone else.

Yep. But Q works hard to make us believe that each of the vendors has a lot of experience in the field or with the product line, etc. I think some vendors fit that description, more than others, and some not at all.

Re: Liz Claiborne - some changes are coming!

I don't wonder if LCNY is leaving QVC but I do wonder if Q is going to start presenting NN more.  This seems like a step down for Linda unless they are ramping up NN.

Just a few years ago, fall and winter were full of NN presentations of sheets, blankets, pillows, various down products, etc.  I don't know when the last time is I saw an hour of NN products or even NN presented at all.  I thought they were pretty much gone from QVC.

So very true. NN used to have a lot of TSV's, and many one or two hour shows. Not anymore.

The quality of their products have fallen dramatically over the years, and I don't think they are selling anywhere near what they once did.

Maybe they think putting a different (and popular) face on the brand will increase sales, but in reality, they are going to have to go back to a much better quality product, and more generous sizing to win me back.

WOW - this is quite a surprise, thought LD loved working with/for LC.  Wonder how MBR will handle this change.

Anyway, maybe Linda will reinvent bringing back affordable quilts now in her new line of work.  I'd love to see that happen.  Miss all of the quilt shows that used to be on qvc.

It's crazy how these spokes folks move from one brand to another too - from women's clothes to bedding, very odd I think.  Linda sold something else too before the LC line, can't recall what it was though.

Not crazy at all.  This is what should remind everyone that they are merely salespeople and not invested in any one brand.  This is what turns me off to this form of shopping -- there is little credibility and I know these people are not sincere.  They are blathering on only because they are paid to do so.

Thanks for the info, I had no seen an Northern Nights item in so long, I thought they were no longer at the Q!

Wasn't Carol Ann originally with Liz before Linda Davies took over after Motto went bye bye  ...........  she is the attractive lady with the dark hair bob, isn't she?  I like her!

Re: Liz Claiborne - some changes are coming!

I read Linda's blog, and she said she got her real estate license in January.  Plus, she's going to be staging homes.

Maybe they are phasing the LC line out?

Yes, I agree. They could be ramping up NN, or perhaps she was looking for something less demanding time-wise if she's truly pursuing a new real estate/staging career. Wasn't there a recent NN sheet set TSV? It could have been some other line for all I know, since I think it was on an all-day "home" event, and I don't watch any of that.

It's interesting to see the vendors come and go and switch product lines. Some do so fairly seamlessly and easily become associated strongly with a new line/product, and others don't. For whatever reason, the one that sticks out to me is Allison from Tig now repping for Vera Bradley. She was a good Tig rep, but for some reason I just don't find her believable or very enthusiastic about VB.

Exactly. In another thread, in a galaxy far, far away, I said the same and was roundly chastised for bersmirching the loyalty and specialized expertise of these musical chairs vendors.

Your first sentence is correct. They are salespeople.  I don't know why you feel turned off by this, however.  They are simply doing the job they are paid to do. I don't invest myself in any one particular vendor to the point I feel betrayal when they move to a different line. It's no different than your favorite SA moving from Chico's to J Jill for a better opportunity. I don't doubt their credibility. I just presume they made a move for a better job.

I don't consider it "blathering on" when they are doing a job they are paid to do.
