I can't for the life of me, figure out WHY in the world does anyone feel the need to post about their lives for god and everyone to see on Facebook!!!???? What a huge chore she must feel trying to pull stuff out of her...........hat to post. I'm not on FB, have no desire to be on FB and wonder where all this info will end up someday. Everyone says it's safe and you can do things to prevent this or that---you mean like how Sonys internet privacy was safe??? Sorry but I just don't get it!!!

ITA with your post.

My guess is that there could be such a great demand from customers/viewers, that she feels as though she should keep in touch. (And I do believe she enjoys keeping in touch.) .... I'm sure her fans are very happy about that. I'll have to go over there and 'take a peek', if possible without signing up, etc.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

FB is a wonderful way to keep up with news and communication among family and friends. Weddings, new babies, trips, funny cartoons, life observations. It's kind of like a personal newsletter, and you don't have to make it any more public or controversial than you want (you choose the circle of FB "friends" who see your posts; mine is quite small), and you certainly don't have to post anything sensitively private or shocking. The only person who would enjoy seeing my FB page would be someone who cares about me and therefore the minor events of my life. Otherwise, they'd probably die of boredom!

Many public figures (like Lisa Robertson), businesses, etc., keep a public FB page -- kind of a public relations thing, I think, and are circumspect about what they publish there. I see no harm in it.

I suspect Lisa is in a "transition" period between leaving QVC and the beginning of her next career. She may be in a holding pattern due to a "non-compete" arrangement or other legal restraints and limitations following her resignation from QVC. So she's vacationing and talking about routine daily doings since she can't discuss big new things on the horizon.

That will change, I am sure.

I think you hit the nail on the head, GoodStuff, re the non-compete issue.

Still not convinced--sorry---I've heard that exact speech over and over. NOTHING is safe or sacred on the internet. Even right now!!!!! And as for other businesses, public figures using it--it's all about the money and the fact that the other guy is doing it too. Sorry but I still don't get it!!!

Some people don't care for the Facebook experience, and it sounds like you're one of them. That's perfectly OK with me. I've been on FB for years -- lots of fun and good communication among my chosen contacts -- and no problems so far. I love it, but to each her own.
