@Kachina624 No they are not...there are 7 different modes.
You choose the mode you want. I always choose steady but when they are on a timer they seem to switch modes all on their own.
I have also had the same set on the light switch...when the switch is turned on sometimes it stays steady, sometimes not.
I have a new set that I bought over the holidays, came with a timer and the functions can be controlled by the timer if for what ever reason the lights start flashing.
Yes, I can buy new, but not really interested in pitching what I have. I did a quick internet search...I guess by opening the circuit box you can by pass the modes you don't want...my husband may want to give that a try...if he ruins the string then I will have to buy new.
