Yes, I DO do things like that. The other day I was about to have a hissy fit because my Keurig didn't work. Then I realized that I had turned it on, but forgot to push the start button. Almost went into full panic mode thinking I wasn't going to get any coffee for a while!

Same thing here. Put tea water in my electric kettle. Ran around doing stuff, came back to add the boiling water to the tea bag....oh no, the kettle was cold. Its an old kettle, it must have finally died. No, I hadn't plugged it in.....Woman Wink

@cookinfreak @This is so something I would do. Especially in the AM before my brain wakes up.

@Imaoldhippie You and me both with the surge protector. I nudge it off with my foot all the darn time.

I do things like that all the time and it cracks me up!

I do find I do it more when I'm overly distracted with too many things on my mind or when I'm overly worried or sad about something. My mind always seems to want to just focus on the worry so much so that basic functions are done without much help from my brain.

One time, maybe 15 years ago (so I can't blame it on age) I got into the backseat of our truck, closed the door and looked around all over the place for the steering wheel (thinking I was in the front seat) and was lost for a minute until I heard my husband laugh from the passanger seat up front asking what I was doing. It was crazy! haha

I also will forget what I walked into rooms for all the time.....

You just gotta laugh.

I am famous for putting my keys in the fridge. To the point that it was the first place my niece would look if I lost them.

Lately, I seem to be vying for a leadership position in the distracted activities club. Just the other day, I put my insulin pen in my jewelry box and my earrings in my refrigerator. Oops!

We can hold co executive positions. 🙃

Yes, I do silly things all the time, particularly when I'm distracted, or upset about something. Doing silly things is a big club, with lots of new members every day...LOL. Welcome to the clubhouse.

Perhaps we can call it the Ministry of Doing Silly Things

I'm always doing dumb things and find that if I'm able to laugh at my stupidity or carelessness it helps. If anyone were to look in to my home and saw me talking to myself and laughing, I may would have to be committed...but it makes life go a bit easier for me.

I   think talking to yourself is a sign of intelligence.

Just this weekend my dear kitty  done what many felines do--barfed on of course living room rug. Aha! just what I purchased the new Shark little clean up machine for.

I got it out of storage, plugged it in,& got the little cleanup attachment out. Whoa--not working. I only had used it once , but it was great then. I kept trying to get it to spray and it wouldn't--very frustrating. Then big dummy finally realized I was pushing on the button to connect it not the one to spray!Woman Surprised

Are you me!? Have done such a thing many times. 🤪😝

Last night I was looking all over for my slippers.  Couldn't figure out what had happened to them.  After about 10 minutes I happened to look down, and yup, I was wearing my slippers.  Whoops!

I do this with my glasses. Can't find them. Starting to freak and........they are on the top of my head, or already on my face. 🙃🤪😝
