Yes, I DO do things like that. The other day I was about to have a hissy fit because my Keurig didn't work. Then I realized that I had turned it on, but forgot to push the start button. Almost went into full panic mode thinking I wasn't going to get any coffee for a while!

Same thing here. Put tea water in my electric kettle. Ran around doing stuff, came back to add the boiling water to the tea bag....oh no, the kettle was cold. Its an old kettle, it must have finally died. No, I hadn't plugged it in.....Woman Wink

Oooof! I have done this too. šŸ™ƒ

I do things like that all the time and it cracks me up!

I do find I do it more when I'm overly distracted with too many things on my mind or when I'm overly worried or sad about something. My mind always seems to want to just focus on the worry so much so that basic functions are done without much help from my brain.

One time, maybe 15 years ago (so I can't blame it on age) I got into the backseat of our truck, closed the door and looked around all over the place for the steering wheel (thinking I was in the front seat) and was lost for a minute until I heard my husband laugh from the passanger seat up front asking what I was doing. It was crazy! haha

I also will forget what I walked into rooms for all the time.....

You just gotta laugh.

Ha! You lost the steering wheel. That is amazing!

When manual transmissions were a thing a very tired me thought she lost the stick shift. I was in my fiancƩ's automatic car, not my manual one.

I tell you, these machines are trying to take over with their silly mind games.

Today it's moving the steering wheel and stick shift....what are they going to do next? Woman Frustrated

Add me to the list!

I have tried to put the cereal box in the refrigerator with the milk. I forget where I park my car frequently. It's very embarrassing to wander around a parking lot. 🄓

Many years ago I searched frantically for several minutes for my wedding set. I always put it on last before going to work and after hand cream. I finally gave up and went to work. I was very upset. At some point later in the morning I realized I had it on my right hand ring finger instead of the left hand ring finger where it belongs. 😱

I forgot how to turn on the hot water for my shower this morning. So, I took a rather cold shower while planning to deal with plumbing. After I was finished, I noticed the hot water in my sink was fine. I walked over to the shower, and yep. TURNED ON THE HOT WATER.

The hot water was fine. I have been in such an uber-panic mode lately, so I forgot to turn it on.

Silly mistake! Have to laugh.

Do you do silly things like this?

After my own mistakes, I sometimes have a good laugh.

One time:

Nearly out the door for a Party, I reached for my can of "Hair Spray" & sprayed away.  Turned out it was my "Underarm Deodorant" Spray.     It took some real fast hair fixing  Woman Frustrated

Now, humbled, I fervently pray I dont mix up my recent new (Dbl Cataract Surgery) Eye Drops with my Mucinex Super Nose Drops!    If I put those Super Nose Drops in my Eyes, BIG trouble!.

I have these very very separated, but didnt seem to have made any difference on mix up occasions before. Woman Frustrated Woman Sad

Solutions r welcomed!

If okay with u, @Squirrels Are Trash   big time, comfy, reassurance *hug*!  Woman Happy

All. The. Time. So often in fact that we call them the Squirrels in My Brain (I do believe they have multiplied), lol! Just like many of you, if I'm stressed or distracted it really happens...I would give you examples but it would be like reading a rather long novel šŸ˜‰
