So, I have this adorable 11 week old kitten that we adopted not quite two weeks ago. He's been doing great, except that the past couple of days I've noticed his stools getting soft......he's making "mud pies" in the litter box, only 2 - 3 times a day. Up to then, he had normal, formed stools. Then this evening he made a real mess spraying and smearing poop around the litter box and tracked all over the bathroom. He hasn't been acting ill, although DH thought he was perhaps a little subdued this evening.
He's been eating a mix of Science Diet kitten food (what he was on at the Shelter) and Purina One kitten chow. Drinks plenty of water. Very active and friendly.
What should I do? Is there anything OTC I can try? Should I stop feeding him overnight? Wait and see? What?
