I had a hunch about him having it and said so over a month ago. His behaivor has been quite bizaar in a few instances. He likes the manic side so he can be creative and obviously not taking his medicine. There are so many people with Bipolar disorder but years ago, no one knew what it was. I hope he realizes that he should take his medicine for his family's sake.

I think the issue is that the manic phase feels so good, it’s hard to convince someone that there is a problem. Others plainly see the manic behavior as bizarre but the bipolar person does not.

He did not have to admit anything. Everyone knows he is a mental case.

He has mental illness, he's not a "mental case". That's the main reason people don't seek help or even talk about it, because of the stigma and prejudice that still exists. People with physical illnesses get all kinds of sympathy, people with mental illnesses don't. Certainly not around here.
He didn't have to admit to anything, he's not guilty of anything.

It’s jusr so important for people who are bipolar to take their medication regularly.
It’s a very difficult situation for the family and dangerous for the person who is bipolar.
It’s very obvious when he’s manic

Manic depression does not always = crazy. IMO it has alot to do with endocrine/adrenal function, and it can feed on itself.
Out of control is out of control.
