@They CallMe MRWILKES @Cakers3 It's possible that @NYCLatinaMe confused MLK day with Juneteenth which is this Monday.

@Linmo

Why doesn't Juneteenth have an actual date so people know when it is?

@Tinkrbl44  You must know Juneteenth is the combo of the date of the proclamation June 19, 1865. Regardless this thread is not about Juneteenth.

It deserves it's own thread instead, too

Yes, I knew that.  I recall years ago reading about U.S. banking regulations and federal holiday timing.  Specifically, when banks and the PO could be closed.

We now have three federal holidays in a 6 week period, but not all digital calendars are yet listing Juuneteenth as a holiday.

Consider that for those billionaires their donations mean  nothing more than a dollar has for most of us.

For them money is infinite, but time is finite for all of us. The billionaires and the Royals.  While your billionaires give their money, the Royals give their time.

@occasionalrain I was not the one making comparisons between British royalty and wealthy US citizens.  It was you who wrote that the British contributions to charity were unmatched.  And the reality is that Americans contribute far more than British royals.  This is a fact.  You may not be aware, but Bill Gates quit his job so he could dedicate his time to charity, in addition to the billions he has made in donations.  The British royalty is compensated for their time promoting charities by British taxpayers.  That is their job.  I am happy to see anyone who can afford to, from any nationality, make substantial charitable contributions to those in need.
