They also time the checkers at the grocery store.  They are to scan  items so many a minute.  I forget how many but, its alot of items per minute.  I was surprised.

@meem120

What grocery chain is this?

ALDI's times their checkers.

Bless her heart!😲 I cannot speak to her mental state, but it is quite possible that a "storm was already brewing", and that brief interaction opened the flood gates. I hope she was able to compose herself, and finish her shift.🤞

I have never driven through a drive-through; just gone through them twice, as a passenger in the car.

I don't do that because I always want to go inside to decide what I want.  Woman Happy

I started working at Drive-in Restaurant as a Car Hop when I was 12 years old. Worked there for almost 5 years. There was not a job there I did not do, including working in the inside Restaurant.

No matter how many people are between the Car Hop and the customers, when it comes to mistakes or being unhappy with the process! Who do you suppose gets the blame 95% of the time? The Cook/Tray Loader/Cashier/Fountain Worker/Cashier?

Nope, that would be the only one they directly communicate with! ME, the Car Hop! Same with the one at the window at KFC or other such places. It's just the way it goes, and I worked there in 1952-1957. Nothing has changed.

Same with any Customer Service Worker! Take out your frustrations on them, when they probably had nothing to do with your problem(s). Sadly, it goes with these jobs.

Totally disgusting to treat any employee that way.  That poor girl needs to walk out and not look back.  There are so many other jobs available now.

I personally could not have let that mistreatment go.  I would have marched right inside and had a chat with the manager.  In fact I would be contacting KFC corporate.

Wow -- that is kind of sad!  Maybe they had such poor performance in that place that the managers implemented that to make the employees step up to the plate.

Our KFC has not been doing well since the pandemic.  They are struggling to get employees --- period.  Half the time you go and the actual dining area is closed as there is nobody to work it or maintain it.  That makes double duty for the few employees they have working the drive through and makes the wait time longer.

One of the Chik-fil-A’s near me has a sign about them striving to get you out in “x” number of minutes, so I assume they must be timing them as well (noticed it after I heard something about them taking the longest time for fast food drive thrus.) In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised that’s why they had me pull around and wait in the parking lot because I wanted no ice in my soda and they had to prepare another for me!! (Which no one ended up bringing me.)

Funnily enough, went to Panera last night and waited a good 15/20 minutes for my salad. Some guy walked in for pick up and was watching the workers prepare the orders - he complimented them as he said the nearby Panera usually takes 45 minutes. This was immediately corroborated by another woman waiting for her order!

Please don't eat this terrible food. Even once a month is too much.

@Carmie

I know Aldis and it was a high number, I guess because they dont bag.  I then asked my checker at Giant and yes they do also, but she said they arent very strict about it like , I guess because they bag.  I know it was a much lower number then Aldis.
