I am always honored to be asked to pray for someone.  I know how powerful and healing it is.  Of course I'll add you and your daughter to my prayers.

@ dooBdoo wrote: Dearest @ Goodie2shoes, I've shared before, sparingly and carefully, that I have my own experience with several inpatient psychiatric hospital stays for depression, anxiety, and thoughts of ending my life.  As you, and others here, know, the darkness we face in these circumstances clouds our reasoning and our thought processes, and so the fact that your dear daughter made this clear and life-affirming decision is extremely encouraging and speaks of her deep sense of purpose and of her strength.  Strength that, no doubt, is like the strength of her loving and faithful mother.  I was blessed each time to have gifted, compassionate staff, supportive family, and faith to carry me forward, and I feel in my heart your daughter will be equally blessed and healed.  My prayers for her, for all who love her, and for those who are guiding her through this process.  Peace and love be with you.❤️

My heart goes out to you for what you have dealt with. I thank you for your encouraging words and every prayer and encouraging word from everyone on this board. My daughter had to leave her 7 year old son and it took everything in her to do that so that she could be the best mom for her son. I have to be the best mom for my daughter even though she is 45 yrs old. Her husband is wonderful and a great Dad so we love her and will be there to guide her through this. Thank you again and God Bless !

@Goodie2shoes Sending positive thoughts and prayers to your daughter and your entire family.  It sounds like she has a good support system and the motivation to recover.

As others on this thread have shared their own experiences, I commend you for posting this.  Even in 2023, any type of mental illness or addiction is often frowned upon and kept in the closet, although most of us probably have been touched by it in our lives.  For those that haven't, I think they are in the minority now.

My daughter has anxiety.  She's been going to a therapist for a couple of months now.  It was difficult to find a therapist.  Many not accepting new patients, they were full.  When we go to the therapist's office (is an office with several different ones), it's full of kids (ages probably middle school to high school).  I decided to pursue a 504 plan for my daughter at school since most of her anxiety is school.  The 504 coordinator said I would be surprised by how many students hae a 504 plan because of anxiety.

Sending thoughts and prayers.  God bless.

Prayers lifted for your daughter, your family and her son and husband.  She will be a new person when she comes out on the otherside of this moment in her life.

I finally got to speak with my daughter today !  She sounded a lot better and said she will be released soon. I'm so happy and I know it's because all of your kind thoughts and prayers have been answered. I forgot to mention she is in a facility out of state which made me worry  even more. She will be able to continue therapy from her home area. She will need to see her doctor regarding her elevated blood pressure. Thank you all so much and please keep her in your prayers as she continues therapy
