I hated being called for jury duty which happened about 6 times in my life, serving on a jury once.  So glad I'm of an age that if I am called, I can be excused.

@kaydee50   may I ask how age effects being called for  jury duty ?

70 and over, one can choose to be exempt from jury duty here in Chicago.

@proudlyfromNJ   I live in NY as well .   I never even knew some states have an age limit .  Are you sure we don't ?  Never thought much about it .  Was never called for jury duty though.

@Kitty Galore Yes, I'm sure. I was called once for town Jury Duty and twice for regular duty at the county courthouse. Wasn't picked for one and the last one which wasn't that long ago had people call every night to see if their number to serve was called. Mine wasn't and they can't call me for another (I think) 4 years.I'll be 80 by then.

It's not an age limit.  You can still serve if you like.  The age thing only means you can be excused if you so desire.
