Re: Jeff Bezos on the Market Again

I think power is an aphrodisiac to some women.  Look at all the political scandals through the years.  Usually with power comes money.

I love this graphic titled "From Geek to Chic"

How Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos went from geek to chic over the years

Jeff, 54, and MacKenzie, 48, announced in a joint statement on Wednesday that they are getting divorced after 25 years of marriage. In the final years of their relationship, the Amazon CEO was dubbed a buff 'style icon,' while his novelist wife dazzled on the red carpet in simple yet elegant gowns. The two are known for their sleek ensembles, toned figures, and incredible wealth, but they were far from style icons when they began attending red carpet events in the early 2000s.

I see the man haters are on this thread as they usually are on threads like this. Hating men. I’ll never understand it.

@DiAnne I doubt it. Why would he? The world is his oyster, as they say. He will have women falling at his feet. He can have/buy whatever he wants. Unless one presents as a challenge for him to conquer. Then, yeah. He might marry again.

That's the trouble with being uber rich. How can one trust a possible love interest to be interested in the person for himself or herself and not the wealth itself.

I just told DH that I needed a divorce so I am available when Jeff comes calling. DH said "no problem" if I'd supply him with a couple million a month; DH is such a sport that he even offered to made Jeff dinner from one of the entrees from our Costco run.  Wonder if he'd like bugogi, quiche or mini crab cakes?

Looking at these pictures over the years, I can't get over how much they look like sibllings instead of a couple. I've heard marriage partners grow to look alike over the years, but they have from the beginning. At least she married him before the fame and fortune.

Perhaps his lightning fast delivery was not appreciated by his wife @golding76.

I don't understand it. Men have always been so good to me.

Why?

He is a self made man.  Unlike many rich men who are trust fund babies. He is supposed to be left penniless?

His marriage is ending like so many others.

How many on this board have been divorced?

I dont get the animus.

None of us know the circumstances of the breakup and never will.

Exactly. I am always amazed at those who start out with nothing but a vision, make it happen on a small scale, and then proceed to grow their idea to grand proportions. It takes a special person to be able to do it, and they are few and far between. As long as they don't break the law,  commit fraud, lie, cheat, and steal, I don't hold a grudge against those who become amazingly successful.
