Awesome! You are so fortunate to be able to watch from your backyard. I've never considered the loud noise, but it makes perfect sense. From the first time I watched the festival on a television special, I've wanted to attend. Maybe one day...

I miss seeing the balloons. We lived in Albuquerque for several years and volunteered at the fiesta each year. We found a great viewing spot up on a small cliff....don’t recall exactly where it was, but so nice to see them about halfway up to their top destination. I know how beautiful it is there when the luminarias are lit up and the tumbleweeds are all decorated...we had one every year in my classroom and the kids loved decorating it.
