I was in my backyard late yesterday afternoon and along comes this little armada of about 7 balloons right over the neighborhood. Last weekend, l laid in bed and watched what may have been the same group.

I saw a balloon once, over the area I live. It was quite low in the sky ,and it looked like jewel, it was so beautiful

It's the noise they make that I love, like a fire-breathing dragons. All the dogs in the neighborhood go nuts. These I pictured landed just a couple blocks away.

They make NOISE?? How funny...I always imagined they would be silent because they look so tranquil and graceful in the sky.

@MarnieRez3. Those propane burners make a roaring noise. I often hear them before I see them. The sound is not constant, just when they want to ascend or stay at the same altitude. They are so pretty in the dark when they hit the burners, like huge, bright, colorful lightbulbs.

My dogs are absolutely terrified of those balloons. They can hear them miles away. We have a Labor Day balloon fest every year in Colorado Springs and sometimes they go over my house, very low and my dog runs for cover. The noise they make is frightening to my dog. A couple of weeks ago a balloon had to land on a street nearby. It belonged to one of those balloon-rides companies here. They had a problem with one of their burners and coudn't get it off the ground. I hope the riders got a refund.
