It would creep me out, but I watch too much of the ID channel....how can you tell he is stareing at your house in the dark? I would install a flood light and turn it on,maybe he will sit somewhere else..

I'm all for continued surveillance and updates. Will his wife join him at some time? Will he progress and do that Asian slow movement/pose thing?

Installing a floodlight is rude, IMO. He’s on his property not bothering anyone.

@Bri63 I don't think it's rude...I would position it to come on if he or someone else gets close to my house

He’s across the street on his property not doing anything. He’s entitled to sit in peace wherever he wants.

But, in the original post, he was not on the neighbors property.

Exactly. Apparently he's been doing this for awhile - He's on his own property, hasn't ventured close to the OP's house, hasn't bothered anyone, hasn't been threatening or rude, or intrusive in the slightest. The poor guy is simply sitting in front of his own house. It's irrelevant that it's early in the morning and that he's not sitting in a chair. That's his preference, no big deal. And there's absolutely nothing to suggest in anything the OP has written that there's a danger of him getting too close to her house or harming anyone or anything.
The bottom line of all of this for me is that we all do things that other people might not do, or might find "odd", both indoors and out. To each his own! As long as we don't infringe on the rights of others, it's completely fine.

now THAT i find odd. LOL
If you are referring to what I said, perhaps I didn't make myself clear & you missed my point.
It's not just about the chair or the ground. It's 4 AM & pitch dark.
Is it odd? Yes, in my opinion. Could there be a legitimate reason for it? Absolutely, posters have offered many possibilities. Could he be up to no good? Maybe, but he hasn't shown any signs of that at this point.

Dear Shorty2U,
Most of us have considered your situation and have offered up our best advice. Obviously this was troubling or you wouldn't have written about it. You and some of us were insulted for our opinions. It never hurts to be cautious or follow your instincts.
I always wonder about the posters that stick up for strange/troubling behavior. Perhaps they have been called out for past actions and are now overly defensive.
May you be safe in your home, outside your home and wherever you go.
God's blessings,
Cathy
