@BalletBabe I'm registered at the ProBoard site and will participate here also till it's end date. I didn't realize how much I would miss my forum check ins until they announced it would be closed. That made my decision to transition to Proboards much easier. My concern is it's longevity and growth, as I see no way to direct forum members to Proboards once this forum is closed or ways to let new customers know it exists. I doubt QVC will allow information about the site on their Facebook page (hopefully im wrong). @Shanus do you have any insight on how people will find us after November 2?

I don't report posters and I wouldn't put anyone on ignore, although there was a poster with a religion MO that had me tempted.

The thing about nasty is that it's subjective. Anyone who is displeased with a thread or the responses can opt out of it. It's presumptuous to expect your feelings to be imposed upon others. We are all adults here, we don't need nannies to cove our eyes.

@manny2, It sounds like you haven't spent much time on other forums. You might at least try it and see if you like it. If you don't, you have full control in you profile to cancel your account and leave.

Ultimately, It just depends on whether you want to continue your relationships that you have made here or not.

@tiny 2  I understand what @manny2  is saying. I would prefer not to know who the moderators are. That should be a secret. If it's possible for the moderators to use another name while moderating and continue using their regular nicks for Posting, that would be much better.

I wonder if there's a certain time?  Will it just end at midnight on 11/2?

For me, I would like to be able to "hide" a Thread that makes me sad or make me nauseous. I don't want to see the Thread Title everytime I go to a Forum. That's just me.

While I do enjoy these forums and the people here as well as receiving a lot of great info here.  I am not sure I am ready to jump onboard a new format where there are no restrictions seeing how some are known for baiting, saying nasty things and refusing to accept that others have differing opinions.  There is really no security in keeping identities safe from someone who takes an argument way too far and  can easily email stalk and even find a way to get phone numbers.  I know of instances where this has happened locally on what was seen as a harmless friendly site.  I do belong to 2 specific to me sites that are heavily monitored and have security in place to prevent members from getting out of hand.  These forums here have often went way to far in the opposite direction at times but also closed posts when it appeared things were getting out of control and nasty.

@Pook    I made up a new email that I will only use for that.  I also registered my name different from my real name and also put a different BD.  If you do that you are safe.

I just ask that over there so many forums take up a whole page I want to delete those that don't have any interest to me like 'sports', etc.
