@Effie54.  In July, I mailed my sister a 31X34 oil painting so lightweight 8 could pick it up with one finger.   UPS packed it in a cardboard box.  Imagine my shock when the bill came to $408.  She wanted it badly and was willing to pay.

WOW! I can imagine the sticker shock on sending an item that's not heavy. That's a lot! I'm sure she's happy she has it now.

Well stated and absolutely true!!

I, too worked with executives for many years and the staff do ALL the work but execs take the credit and paycheck.

Anyone ever hear the expression, "Screw up, Move up." It's commonly used in Corporate America and sums it up perfectly.

Now there's always exceptions but not enough to make a difference.

I am not sure the exact amount they are getting salary wise from this forum from other topics I've read lately (do not trust)

If they do I think it is deserved well into the night that they deliver.

We are happy with our packages I'm sure right?

why does someone making a really good wage--for which they have to work hard--bother you? what does it take away from you?

maybe you should contact them all and complain.

@GoneButNotForgotten It's a matter of skilled vs. unskilled labor.  So if everyone makes a fabulous salary, how does the economy survive?  If money for everyone is the standard and what we "ought" to make the determining factor you have a welfare state.

McDonalds isn't in most instances a living wage.  So how do you get a better job?  Get trained, get skills, etc.  We're teaching kids to "do what they love" which unfortunately won't be a living in most instances.  It isn't easy.  It's just life.

It is both a physically and mentally challenging job. They are under a lot of pressure. If they have an accident. Even if it isn’t their fault it is held against them. They can lose everything. This happened to a driver I know.  He said he was at the end of his rope after he had an accident.

A car ran the red light and hit him.  They told him he should have anticipated it and avoided it.

The richest 1 percent grabbed nearly two-thirds of all new wealth worth $42 trillion created since 2020, almost twice as much money as the bottom 99 percent of the world's population, reveals a new Oxfam report today. During the past decade, the richest 1 percent had captured around half of all new wealth, and yet the ecomony has not "collapsed". So no, it's not too much.🙄

The UPS driver I had here at my office back in the mid '90's told me he was making $25.00 an hour and they were changing his route to a smaller one.  He was saying goodbye to many of us since they did not want to pay him for a full day or more anymore since he was at the higher hourly now.  I saw him at Walmart a couple of years later and he said he had recently retired.  Hard to say whether the $170,000 is worth it or not  but they do put in the hours and back breaking work.
