Would you perhaps feel differently if your child attended this school?

This staffer wasn't even on the same flight as the nurse.

I think the school is going waaaay overboard and I would certainly send my child to the school w/o the so called sterilization.

Well, I wouldn't.

If you have a child with a compromised immune system it is not going overboard.

If I had a child with a compromised immune system, I would be more worried about the illness that has already killed several children.

But that wasn't the question from the original post now was it.

And what makes you think that I'm not?

I heard that it was 5 schools. As already said if it were your child attending those schools wouldn't you want them closed and cleaned? What is the alternative to ""going overboard""? Possibly getting sick with ebola?

I also just heard on ABC news two additional issues. A bridal shop that Nurse Vinson visited while in Cleveland has closed.

A Yale University doctoral student returned home after a research trip to Liberia. He was not in contact with any ebola patients. He didn't feel well and has a low-grade fever. He is now in isolation as ""an abundance of caution"" while awaiting test results to be ready in 24 hours. Don't you think it's better to be careful?

It was 2 schools closed today and last night one was disinfected overnight but opened today.

There were schools closed in Dallas so maybe it was 5 total but only 2 here in the Cleveland area.

I certainly wouldn't send my child to school just to make a point that I think people are being ""overly cautious"".

A person presenting with a fever who spent time in an infected area is far, far cry from a bridal shop that the nurse supposedly visited. The two aren't even comparable.

Scientists proved that the Ebola virus can be exchanged in primates "through the air" (not just bodily fluids). If this staffer has a temperature, perhaps there is a reason for closing the school.

IF it were airborne, shutting down the schools now does no good. The damage is already done. Science has shown that it is NOT airborne among humans. If it were, more than a couple of people in the US would have it right now. Duncan's family members have not become symptomatic and their 21 days expires on Sunday. I think this is ignorance on the part of the school system there. We saw similar things with. HIV. If a staff member had definitely been on the plane WITH the nurse, and the nurse had been sick in her seat, then I would say, definitely quarantine the staff member, and monitor anyone close to her. And monitor/quarantine other psgrs. I think.this other stuff is nonsensical and does nothing.
