What's QVC without MBR?  When we see KL back with diamonique, it really illustrates to me how important a great host is .... i know i watch now with no sound for many hosts and i never did that before. Many hosts who are not new, do not even come close to the pros like MBR or KL.   I know things change and i too retired on my own terms so i send best wishes to MBR.  i hope QVC has a plan; the over 50 and fab marketing plan is not the answer IMO.

I haven't watched the Q in a long time but when I did she was my favorites.  She is professional and down to earth.

Re: Is MaryBeth retiring?

[ Edited ]

Congratulations to Mary Beth on her retirement.  I have always enjoyed her as a host through the years.

I think she should have stuck with her plans to leave QVC in August.  I remember when I told my employer I was retiring, they tried to get me to extend, and even work part time. I left when I originally intended, and it was definitely the right choice for me.

@Tissyanne   Same with me.  I couldn't wait to start this new chapter of my life.  After 25 grueling yrs working in the court system, I was out the door exactly when I said I would AND I refused to have any "fanfare"...no party, no gifts.

I had a wonderful career and kept many mementos of the work I did and that was enough for me!  Never looked back.

Mary Beth is retiring March 21, 2025 according to her announcement.  She said she wanted to retire in August, but the Q asked her to stay till March.  I can see why she wanted August, because that is when she turns 65.

I, also, can see why the Q asked her till March. They need everyone through the holidays as hosts.  Then they can hire someone for her to start training before she leaves in March.  I did not take the extension when I retired, neither did my husband.  The Q must have treated her to extend.

QVC won't be the same without MBR. Let's just hope PJD stays around a little longer. QVC definitely will not be the same without these two beautiful hosts.

Good for her but why wait till March.  Q is hiring so maybe they want her to train.  I have watched her since 1990 so it's her time.  Now if Jane, Leah, Jayne & Rick wouuld just follow suit.  I still enjoy Pat & Rosina, the rest can go.

@bells4me Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Smiley Sad

She should have left in August as were her wishes. She would have been able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with her young family and made more memories with them. Those moments pass quickly and you can not get them back. I was also asked to remain on longer when I retired and said no.
