I usually don't post threads like this after a thread has been deleted, but this time I'm really dumbstruck as to why my thread about Drew Brees was poofed.

I started a thread this morning with photos of Saints QB Drew Brees and our 19th president, Rutherford B. Hayes. It has been noted that there is a striking resemblance between the two. Hayes is not a controversial historical figure by any stretch, so I can't figure out why in Heaven's name the thread is gone. It was merely a human interest story.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. I'm considering emailing the webbies to see if they can give me an explanation. We are so tightly restricted as to what we can talk about that the guidelines are practically meaningless at this point, because even when we're diligent about following those guidelines, our threads are deleted.

Just grasping at straws here, but could it be that webbie views any thread that mentions any president as being political? It really doesn't appear to be poofworthy.

You may be grasping at straws, but you're probably right. If so, I think it's a huge overreaction. It makes me feel differently toward QVC and posting in their forums, sadly.

You could be right as well, but it wasn't about him at all. There was nothing even remotely controversial about Drew giving him a football shirt.

Oh well, I think we should at least get the benefit of the doubt and be allowed to post if we're behaving ourselves. If the thread takes a new direction, than I can understanding poofing it.

I just saw this article on CNN.com and found it very interesting, I also think that President Hayes was very handsome.

I do too. Up until today, I only saw his presidential photos which showed him as a much older man, but the one that was compared to Drew must have been while he was in high school or college. He was certainly some nice eye candy for the ladies of that era.

Dang ole Rutherford was Hot. So it seems we actually once had a good looking Prez who was a Republican and an army officer to boot. Huh.

They probably have a program on their computer that red flags posts with certain words in them and it picked up on president with a big P and the lazy censor just removed it rather than read it.

That would make sense. Either that, or Lila Belle was correct in her suggestion. The photo of Drew that I posted also had President O'bama in it. The thread was SO not about O'bama that I didn't even think of it. I couldn't figure out why they would delete a thread about the Hayes and Brees resemblance. Duh.
