Inventor of game "Operation" needs help paying for his own operation

The subject line says it all. According to an article in CNN you can read HERE he needs $25,000 for oral surgery.

Apparently when he invented the game 50 years ago he sold it to a Toy invention firm for $500.

I'm sure there are millions upon millions of 77 year olds who are having a difficult time with mounting medical or dental bills. He's not special just because he made very poor business decision a half century ago.

Too bad he was young & foolish at the time & probably thought the $500 was a pretty good deal. Who knew the game would wind up making millions?

As for the dental implants, with all due respect, perhaps he needs to lower his expectations & get dentures instead, for a lot less $$.

I think they said on Good Morning America this morning that Hasbro has now bought his original prototype of Operation, that he made as a student, to put in the Hasbro Hall of Fame. The proceeds from this should take care of his operation.

I thought it was a really nice thing for Hasbro to do.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Well, good for him. Sure wish I had someone to pay for my extensive dental work.

That is nice. Glad they did that.
