@bikerbabe

Next Door tended to get on my nerves...

until I needed info about the "Lantern Fly Invasion of 2023!"

LOL, @Wsmom!

My comment was something like:

'You were told that your landlord was selling the property, and you were asked to move.

But, you stayed put as the house went on the market, was sold to a developer, and the properties surrounding you were leveled to make way for the new build. Construction began, but still you stayed.

In all probability, you've not paid any rent during this time, so should've been able to set some money aside to pay for your own moving costs.

How about setting an example to your children of what a responsible adult does in such a situation?

Move, and pay your own way.

Asking for 10,000 for moving expenses is excessive, don't you think?'

Anyway, @Wsmom, it only took one person to call me a hater, and the race was on! I was put on time out. Smiley Very Happy

My other fave gofundme on NextDoor was from a young woman who said her dog's vet bills were "crazy expensive", and she didn't have money for extras like that. She was planning on going to Burning Man, so was using her money for that.

Her gofund me was for $5,000.

What a crazy world.

@sabatini , I see nothing wrong with what you said.  Makes perfect sense!

And yes, very crazy.   I like to look at them sometimes to see if people are actually donating and it's amazing what people will donate to.
