Interesting product Southern Channel CloseDrier™ Portable Garment Drying Unit

Assuming it is okay to post this here I was checking out programs on my tv and happened upon a special value  CloseDrier™ Portable Garment Drying Unit.  I am wondering if anyone has any experience with something like this.... drying clothes with a portable unit. Wondering if it is a take along for vacations.  I have a perfectly good dryer and do not see the need to get a small unit that seems to do the same thing for my house.

I don't really see a purpose unless you're in an apartment with no dryer and handwash most of your clothes.  I do have a hanging drying rack which I set over my heat register to air dry clothes then just tumble them in the dryer.

What appeals to me it that is drys the item on a hanger. I would much rather dry my husband's dress shirts on a hanger, than in a dryer. And I think my tops would look nicer after being dried on a hanger. I try and take all the items out of my dryer as soon as it stops or I stop it. But drying an item on a hanger - you don't have to hover over the dryer.

It was under discussion in the TSV forum this morning.

For those of you not familiar with the secret code, "the southern channel" means HSN.

This item has been around for several years.  If there are no reviews, it's probably because they were unfavorable and removed.  I'm automatically suspicious of anything bearing Joy Mangano's name.  I've been burned too many times.

And is the "secret code" even necessary now that HSN and QVC are now "one"?

@bonnielu  There was another discussion thread on this item in the Community Chat (not the TSV) forum.  It's a new and improved version over one that JM had years ago.  As was mentioned, it seems good for drying hanging shirts or even freshening up something that isn't actually dirty but has lingering odor.  I also like the idea of getting certain undergarments dried quicker.  I also plan to take it when DH and I go on short trips.  He likes to run and swim.  Until now, he's always just hung his stuff over the shower rod, but it's unsightly and inconvenient.  I like the idea of being able to hand wash certain items and have them dried within a short period of time.  So yes, we'll give it a try, taking it on driving trips with us.

Re: Interesting product Southern Channel CloseDrier™ Portable Garment Drying Unit

I  have a  high efficiency drier (so the manual says LOL) and I  have many drying options.  It does a great job and if there are wrinkles I  just put the stuff back and I get perfect results every time.  I  was just wondering what this gadget is and or does that my dryer  does not do.  I can see it being used if you have a camper or travel by car.  I doubt it would easily make it on an airplane, a train or a bus.  Seemed strange to me.  And yet there are probably some that have made good use out of it.

I have some of her products...some work for me... others not.  Hit or miss.  I saw one part of a presentation and one of her comments really got to me.  She said something about her dress (the one she showed on a hanger) and something about the price tag being more than "three dryers."  Not sure I heard her right.  Not sure which dryers.
