I'll probably just shop one store and that way I can easily meet the minimum $35 to get my stuff delivered. It's just me here and I don't need much...just fresh produce mostly and maybe some frozen items like berries and mixed veggies. I think I'm going to pay the $9.99 monthly fee for the Express...that might be the best deal for me because I like to shop once a week and if you do the math that would be about $12 a month w/o Express. A bit of a savings there but every cent counts for me.

According to their website---

*For all members, you may cancel your Instacart Express membership within the first 15 calendar days of your paid Instacart Express membership and receive a refund of the Instacart Express membership fee you paid, but only if you have not placed any orders using your Instacart Express membership. If you cancel at any other time, you will not receive a refund, but you can continue to enjoy the Free Deliveries through the end of your billing period.

Cancel or change your auto-renew settings:

1. Log in and click Account
2. In the drop down menu, click Instacart Express
3. Next to Membership Plan, click End Membership
   1. If you think you might change your mind, you can Set a Reminder for yourself about the upcoming membership renewal instead.
   2. If you’re certain you’d like to stop renewal, click Continue to Cancel
   3. Please note that you must have a payment method saved under Credit Card prior to being able to cancel your membership
4. Confirm your cancellation by clicking End, which will cancel your membership at the end of the indicated date

This morning my stuff looked like it wouldn't be delivered until next Friday. Then a couple hours later when I went back to add something, my order says it would be delivered in 5 hours! I don't need it now so I'm waiting to place my order so I'll get it later.

Up date, it just came ,had chat with shopper while shopping, no chicken ,no meat ,bare shelves,she said been this way for 3 days now, no ice cream.

I’m confused about delivery fees. Through my grocery store’s website, I just placed my first Instacart order, without benefit of an Instacart Express membership. My 18 items totaled $72.09, plus tax. Obviously, that’s more than double the $35 requisite, but added to my charges was a $3.99 delivery fee, a service fee of $3.30 and a pre-determined tip of $3.30, adding an additional $10.59 to the bill. The final balance due was $83.96.

As previously mentioned throughout this thread, I did see offers of “spend $35 and get free delivery,” but each was attached to a specific line of brands, inferring I’d have to buy $35 worth of this, that or the other. Or, is having an Instacart Express membership ($10 mo., or $99 yr), what gives you free delivery for orders of $35 or more? Not to further conflagrate the issue, but what if, with the Express membership, an order is less than the minimum?

I thought the service I received was good, received 16 of my 18 items with 2 acceptable substitutions.  As circumstances call for it, which I imagine they will, I will confidently use the service again. But I would like to understand how the charges for it are determined.

I'll be watching for the answers because I'm been wondering about the same thing.  My grocery of choice offers delivery, but when I went to their website I saw that the delivery is through Instacart.

@IamMrsG  I think grocery stores have contracts with instacart.  It used to be some grocery stores had separate delvery deals with consumers.  But they make more money with instacart.
