The Original Post has a "tell what my favorite color should be"

feel to it.

Idunno....if you want to spend $2000 on...say...comic books,

if that makes you happy, it makes you happy.

I also vote for jewerly...I purchased a pretty multi gemstone necklace with money I inherited from my grandma...I think of her everytime I wear it.

I see your dollar amount is $2,000. that would be a nice piece of jewelry!

Don't be in a hurry to spend the money.   I think jewelry is a good idea and certainly you should spend the money on something you can see, feel, or use very often.  Give it time and one day suddnely out of the blue something will come to mind and that is when it will be the right time to buy that special  item.   Whatever it is, enjoy it.

@Marceil: I think that's a question only you can truly answer. Sounds like you're leaning toward jewelry. If that's what you want and you can afford it, get it! Smiley Happy

@rms1954...There was nothing wrong with the other poster mentioning she inherited money and she certainly wasn't justifying spending it.  I would have done the same thing, don't understand why you chastised her for it.  Many posters here tell us how something was acquired.  Either they won something, was given a gift, bought it, or inherited it.

Your  question reminded me of something I have not thought of in years.  After my dad died my sons )in their mid 20's at the time) each received an inheritance and true to form they put it in savings with the following exceptions.  Both boys made a donation in my parents' names to a breast cancer charity.  My mom died of bc.  My older son reserved some of his and brought us (me, my hubby, and his brother) out to dinner at my dad's favorite restautant where we ordered all his favorite foods and honored his memory through love and laughter.  It was a wondrrful tribute and I was so proud of the way they handled their gift from their grandpa.  However you choose to spend yours do enjoy it and know that it gave your dad great pleasure to leave you something.  And, I'm sorry for your lossl

@Lindsays Grandma I agree. I posted a similar response to that person. IMO she was just being snotty.

@Love my grandkids   I know you did, I gave you a heart for it.  I just can't understand why some people have to be mean.

Back in the early 90s, my aunt died, and I inherited a bit of money.  I purchased living room furniture -- my first nice set.  I still use the tables, but the upholstered furniture got traded in a few years go.  RIP Aunt Arline.

Get whatever is going to make you happy.

I used part of my inheritance to remodel my house and some more to put a big down payment on a new vehicle.
