Apparently, a winter storm is headed up north later tonight. Do you suppose the hosts anticipate & book a hotel room nearby to keep from driving?
When I worked at the library, we had a couple of librarians who lived miles away. They would book a room at a B & B nearby to keep from driving on icy streets/highways and still be able to report to work.

Where I used to work in very hilly, difficult to drive in Pittsburgh, essential staff were allowed to stay in on call rooms during blizzards.

I've heard the hosts say there are suite type rooms that they can stay in during bad weather.

One of my best friends is a producer for several NYC radio shows and when weather is bad she often stays over night in the city at the company's expense, so that she can get to work by 4:30 am. I on the other hand will work from home since tomorrow is a half day for our office anyway.

Maybe they have to drive like the rest of people who work? My husband will be working all day Wednesday during the incoming storm in the east. Lots of people have to work no matter what the weather. But Im sure they can stay someplace close to QVC if it gets that bad or they may have a limo service?

QVC does have suites for this reason. I also heard one say once that they have 4 wheel drive vehicles and security will come and get them.

I know they do have rooms for the ones who live too far to drive. Geeze people act like no place but QVC gets snow. I drove in it to work for several years, and shoveled the driveway to get out at 4:00 a.m.

QVC is the one common denominator among all the posters.

A few of the hosts have posted pictures of them being picked up at their homes by security at QVC so they could get to work during really bad weather.
I remember a time when the same hosts were on air over and over again because they basically got stuck their during a storm and other hosts couldn't get in to work. I also recall last year a few of the hosts getting a hotel near QVC to stay because they had to be at work and were expecting inclement weather.
I know in our area, the police will pick up nurses who have to be at work.
