My neighbors across the street sit in their driveway...starting at roughly 6 am..off and on all day during the warm months...yes, I know this is not a crime but they watch everything that goes on in the neighborhood..I feel like I am in a fishbowl.

We have neighbors that do that too even when it 110 degrees. I really don't mind. I feel they help keep any potential crime from happening.

I wonder if the garage and driveway sitting derives from life in pre-central AC old city neighborhoods -- where it gets so hot in the house you just have to sit out on the stoop all day.

Nothing in my neighborhood either other than, kids outside playing and bike riding, people out walking dogs, planting flowers and mowing grass......

My first thought was I would LOVE to have cows in my yard looking in my window. No cows in Chicago. But then someone mentioned the cow pies

Re: In My Neighborhood.......

@Sage04  We live in cow country, although not near as many farms as there used to be.

I think unless a car hits one of them no one cares.  We have no town police or even a constable.  I doubt the State Police would come 20 miles over wandering cows.

The whole fence behind our house and his pasture is knocked down. He knows and hasn't fixed it.  i'm not buying the material and then paying someone to fix it.  If I do it he will expect me to keep doing it.

@scatcat  Yeah, they tend to fertilize things.  It is not the cows so much as his big bull with horns.

If you go out and yell at the cows they may or may not mosey off.  That stupid bull stands there with a, "I'll leave when I'm ready" look.

He is a big boy and you don't mess with bulls.

The groundhog who lives under our garage had 3 little babies.  They are adorable.  I just discovered that they can climb trees.  The neighbors annoy me because they have to light a fire on every single nice day and night.  Every one.  I cannot open my windows and enjoy fresh air because of them.  Their flowering cherry and magnolia trees sure are lovely though!

@Glittergal  That's why I told my husband no more fires in the fire pit. We bought a gas one. Neighbor across the street went and complained to her neighbor two houses away she couldn't stand the smoke from their outdoor pizza oven. I don't know how it could have been so bad since it's not that close and has a house and a ton of trees in between. Oh well.

I haven't actually SEEN my next-door neighbors in Y E A R S.....   Don't even know their names.     This neighborhood was built when 6-foot cement yard walls were popular.   No windows visible from the street....people come and go through the garage doors (in cars with tinted windows.)    And this is NOT some "exclusive" place....just the way it was built........

I agree. I doubt I could pick them out of a line up. I don't know their names either. Two doors down is a retired cop who likes sports cars, the couple next door works at Floor and Decor. The people on the other side of us are constantly having people come and go but when I go down to get the mail the never speak either. Other than that I have no clue as to anything else. I like my 6' block fence. Don't want to see into my neighbors yard. I'm in a normal neighborhood.

Not in Arizona. Everyone has ac. Why on earth would anyone with ac choose to sit all day in a garage when it's 110 plus is beyond my but hey, if they like it more power to you.
