It's supposed to continue into tomorrow and temps hovering around 29 degrees.... We're not use to this type of weather here in the Piedmont area of NC... Can't wait to see my power and gas bills next time.
@KatieB After this passes through the Georgia mountains, I'm sure your neighbors here will be sending our power crews your way. I used to live in North Carolina and I remember how paralyzing winter weather is there. I'm sure we'll have your back.
North Georgia isn't supposed to get hit too bad despite the media coverage frenzy. I'm sure our state will have plenty of people to help the Carolinas and TN. I'd be disappointed if they did not.
Thanks @Laura14 !! I just heard on the news that Duke Energy will be sending in the troops from GA... Now it's 24 degrees and feels like 13.... Too cold for me.... BTW, Laura was my sister's name....
@KatieB Great news! I wish we could swap. I'm at work with just rain but the threat of snow and ice later today. I'd rather have a good old snow storm than this mess. Stay warm!

I already started a thread about remaining safe and warm earlier this morning, with the upcoming storm approaching soon, but I will also add to this one.
We can never have enough prayers and kind thoughts regarding our safety, and the safety of everyone, (human beings, and all God's creatures).
God Bless, stay warm, well, fed & safe.

@Hayfield wrote:Thanks everyone for the "warm" wishes, we made need them if we lose power! I'm heading out to Wegmans to see if there's any food left, then to the gym to get a workout in but I think I'll be getting a good workout once the snow starts to fall and we have our shovels ready. We already have our plan, go out and shovel every couple of hours. DH & I are 61 years old and we can't shovel 2 feet of snow at once!! I have already stocked up on wine!!!!!! We're right in the bullseye of the storm!! Lucky us!!!!
@Hayfield I'm also in the bulls eye and I can't shovel at all. Second heart attack for me since last August. I can't do any shovelling. It would be hard to shovel anyway with winds over 40 mph and gusts over 50. If you can do that, you're wonder woman!!!! Please be careful because I just don't see anybody going out in blizzard conditions shovelling snow to make shovelling easier. Please don't put yourself in danger.
Have just prayed for you, your DH and all people on this forum concerned by this horrible storm Jonas.
Be safe, stay warm, drive carefully.
Blessings.
