Re: Ideas for gift baskets

[ Edited ]

@Witchy Woman, this isn't a "basket" but the same premise.  DH and I are snowbirds.  Needless to say in the dead of winter in NY we seem to have a lot of people wanting to come visit us in FL!  I buy canvas totes and stuff them with a beach towel, suntan lotion, baseball cap, flip flops, thermos and a light beach read paperback.  I put them in my guest rooms with hanging tags with my guest names and they are a huge hit.  It makes them feel welcome and somehow folks manage to forget those beach essentials when packing.

You're a good egg to do such a nice thing.  I'm sure it will be a huge success.  Best, LuLu

@lolakimono

Wanted to let you know that I did end up purchasing the tea you recommended to go in my "Tea Time With Alice" gift basket.

I'm putting the finishing touches on it now -- so fun to put it together.

Also, to anyone else stopping by for an update, all of your ideas were noted and will be used for future baskets!

I really enjoyed the process and just needed a little kick-start to get going.

Thanks again!

Candle basket. Several complementary real jar type and pillar candles, lighter, plates and shades or pedestals.

Kitchen linens basket. Nothing but linens for the kitchen/dining area. Pretty matching/coordinating tea towels, dish cloths, oven mitts, place mats/napkins napkin rings.

There are people who are very practical and would like something filled with practical things like:

An off to college or first apartment basket, with all the cleaning products and paper products needed to set up that new space (tissues, paper towels, tp, cleansers, windex, microfiber rags, dish soap etc.).

 A laundry basket. Detergent, softener, stain removers, bleach, a roll of quarters, etc, and could be done up in something like the trolley dolly they sell here.

Emergency basket. A first aid kit, flashlights, batteries, maybe a Halo type charger.

Car emergency kit. Halo charger or battery cables, tire gauge, small throw, and depending on the climate you live in, work/winter gloves, safety hazard/flashlight combo. etc.

Kitchen towels and various kitchen items.  Hot pads, wooden spoons, etc., etc.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
