Instead he dumped a bucket of money over his head. He said he would be donating the $10,000 to the ALS foundation and challenged Jon Croyer, Ashton Kutcher and the producer of his former show to do the same thing....each one dump $10,000 and donate it to the foundation.
I like that! Fantastic idea! Might bring in more donations from those who cannot do the ice bucket.

I love that idea too, and it doesn't even have to be the amount of money you are donating. It can just be a token amount ... and you can write a check for the dollars you decide to give. Perhaps people who don't like the ice bucket idea could give this way instead. Whatever brings in the money for this great cause ... just give. You could give in honor or in memory of someone close to you. We're giving in honor of our friend, "L" who was diagnosed with ALS last fall. Won't you join us?

Nashville is my favorite show on TV.
A number of their actors have taken the challenge.
My favorite, the incredibly HOT, Chip Esten (Deacon), did his challenge in a white t-shirt, resulting, no doubt, in a lot of women, needing the ice challenge~!
The next day, he posted an Instagram, saying another group had challenged him and he would be glad to donate again, but, he had already done the ice bucket and didn't think he should have to do that again; sure enough, another ice bucket over the head
unfortunately, the 2nd time, he did not have the white t-shirt on

Who cares? It worked.
The ice bucket challenge has brought more awareness to this horrible disease. My neighbors brother passed away in his 30's from this. I enjoy watching these videos and I am sure most people make a donation also. I think it was a brilliant idea. This disease doesn't get as much awareness such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc.

Just saw Ben Affleck's Ice Bucket Challenge video last night. It was cute.

If you dump the bucket, it means you don't have to donate, right?
If you don't dump, then you are supposed to donate.
That means all those people who are dumping the ice water buckets over their heads are saying they don't want to donate?

I took the challenge & posted to FB Sunday.

Most people seem to be dumping AND donating.
On a local newscast, a doctor spoke about the challenge. The anchor asked if she'd been challenged and she replied she hadn't. The anchor then challenged her. She said she'd happily donate. The anchor said, no, she should do both. She agreed to.

That may be true, but most videos I've seen make no mention of making a donation.
I'm just saying the premise of the challenge is to dump the bucket or make a donation, so all these people dumping the buckets are saying they'd rather do that than make a donation. It doesn't make sense.
Don't get me wrong ... I think it's good that it has brought more awareness to ALS. I just question whether those dumping the water over themselves are really donating.
