Those babies are so precious and smiles are contagious!  My husband has a twin sister and our daughter gave birth to identical twin boys that are now 3 1/2 months old and adorable.  Twins run on both sides of our family and didn't always skip a generation.

She's the only one of her cousins who had twins.  It is a blessing times 2 in our case.  I loved the tips she gave on how to deal with multiples and told my daughter to view them.  They look like a lovely family. Lots of fun adventures ahead!

@WORKING GAL, did you know that identical twins do not run in the family? Only fraternal twins are hereditary. Most people don't realize that but it's true.

Congratulations to you on your new grandsons!

Yes, that is so true, most people don't know this.  When I had my identical twins, I did research about twins.  Fraternal twins come when two separate eggs are fertilized at the same time.  Identical twins happen when one fertilized egg splits into two eggs therefore giving the twins the same DNA.

I believe I also read (almost 40 years ago) that with identical twins, there is only one placenta but with fraternal twins, there will be two placentas.   This is how doctors know right away if the babies are identical or fraternal.  Think about that random egg that you crack and you see two yolks inside.
