@moonandthestars @Amazon wants reviews that aren't long. They seem to want more about that are about three or four lines. They have an algorithm they use. It's not very good for my needs.

@gertrudecloset @The review says where or how the review was obtained. See next post below this one for an example.

@Mindy D thanks. I didn't realize amazon was doing that. What's the point of it?
also, I do agree that if they are going to import outside reviews then they shouldn't be cherry picked.

I think all those reviews are from people who bought the item from dysons site rather than amazon. a lot of things amazon sells are cheaper on the companies sites but people find it easier to buy from amazon. those reviews don't bother me I usually read negative reviews first. I don't think anyone wants to be bothered with writing reviews anymore.

@Mindy D wrote:I never make a purchase based on reviews from outside sources. When sites post reviews taken from outside sources, I ignore them. Here on the Q, I usually don't even read them. The same thing goes for me at all other sites. I am interested in reviews from actual customers that bought on the site where I'm buying. I usually read every single review before I buy. How do you feel about these outside reviews?
Most of my purchases are from the big place. I pay more attention to "verified purchaser", for an obvious reason. I do read others, but looking at certain specs are also included, when necessary, before I hit the "buy" option.

I find all the reviews I can and then evaluate them. Yes, all kinds of mistakes could be made but it still gives me something to go on.

i take ALL reviews with a grain of salt, no matter where they come from......i generally dont let them sway me one way or another unless there are a very large number of negative reviews.
my tastes, my expectations, my wallet, my needs, my choices. THAT is generally what it all boils down to when i place an order.

As long as it a fair review of the product, it does not matter where it was purchased. It has to be a verified purchase, QVC allows too many reviews which are actually opinions by people have not purchased the product. This is unfair to the vendor.
