Be safe! Don't get them stuff they don't want or need. I'd suggest a small gift of a nice pair of houseshoes, robe or something like that that isn't so size specific, a cute change purse or fancy keychain and a NICE gift card! For him the same, something he loves (fishing stuff) and a gift card.
That way it's a personal gift that is small and fun and cash to buy what they want. Especially since you don't know the wife well.
To me when you make a donation in someone's name it says "You don't deserve a gift". I don't care what you have or don't have, everyone deserves a little gift now and then.

@dex wrote:@jlkz@I like the kitchen cart idea. They have a tiny kitchen but they cook all of their meals. They like to cook large batches to freeze and always wish for more counter space. My son says they need a house with a bigger than apartment sized kitchen but his wife says not for another 10 years.
A Food Saver and even include an extra supply of various sized bags to last a while would help them with this. Especially if they are freezing things, and they probably do not have a large freezer in an apartment, so to put things into solid plastic type containers would use more space in the freezer if they are not completely filled, a Food Saver would allow them to customize each size bag and save space in the freezer!

they don’t have a food saver ...excellent idea as they make ahead meals all of the time.

It sounds like they are both business people career wise so maybe a nice gift card to a clothing store or even a shoe store.

I really like the experience gift idea.
If they have a favorite restaurant maybe a gift certificate for that, attached to a lovely bottle of wine (if they like wine, of course!)

I have two thoughts: First: home security. Do they have a "ring doorbell" or Mr. Beams indoor/outdoor security lights? These are simple to install and work well.
Second: I'm assuming they are on different shifts, etc. so dinner is a "rush"--what about an air fryer and already prepared food that can be air fried?
