Deb, well if she loves Downton Abby would she like the videos?

The mani pedi gift certif sounds great too. I always love getting those.

If she loves to knit...how about the yarn and a pattern for a sweater for you (JUST KIDDING)

I like the mani pedi idea the best. Or maybe a facial.

I always went to the nicest nursery in town and got my mom a beautiful hanging basket of flowers for her to hang on her patio and enjoy all summer.

Fresh flowers or plants are always nice. Last year, I sent my mom chocolate covered strawberries from Shari's Berries. I might do that again, this year, since she's trying to downsize, and not acquire more "stuff".

I guess I don't know what it means to live in a retirement community. Do they have a car and go out alone? Then a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant. Or you can take them out to dinner for an added gift.

Alex and Ani bracelets are a great way to commemorate occasions.

There are special ones for moms and birthstones and a whole lot of other meaningful things.

They are a thin bangle with a dangling charm and the idea is to wear multiples.

Nordstrom's sells them but there is far more variety at a good website called ZeeBerry.

I believe I have the name right, where you burn the candle and there is a ring in it....they are a bit pricey though, around $25.

Thanks. I never heard of it. I'll have to investigate.

I want one, but have not ordered yet, it sounds like fun though, letting it burn down to see what your ring looks like, lol.
