And may I say at the risk of getting banned:

Other than the obvious cuss words it is absolutey ridiculous to not be able to say the root word of fluffy or W*cked or the nickname for Richard.

Context, context, context.

I still can't figure out why the bolded word above is a problem - I even looked it up in the Urban Dictionary and it didn't say anything bad. Am I being totally dumb??? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

I can't figure that one out either so I guess we're both dumb.

of this BB now. I'm even afraid to post that I'm afraid!! If you don't see me anymore, then assume I have been exiled.

Hello Ford1224,

It would be nice if there are words that they let slip by their "censorship" were posted on their Community Standards. Seems like there are innocent words were placed side by side are banned, but I see no list that says what is and what is not banned. When I put in certain words it will not let me post it without removing them. Many times even after I remove them, I still cannot reply to a thread so I just "cancel" the whole thing.

I don't get being banned, especially if you were not the one using the word. And moreover, I do not see getting banned when this Bulletin Board has the ability to add words/combination of words or phrased from even being posted. There have been a lot of things that even I saw as being pretty nasty, and I think I am more liberal than the ladies when it comes to those things.

Hey, you managed to put up with me for a long time as not being one of your favorites. That fortunately is in the past, but if there is anything I can do to alleviate you fear, please don't hesitate to ask.

As many years as I've been around here I would like to think I understand their processes when it comes to running this Bulletin Board, but I would be lying if I said that I did. I was a moderator on a few Bulletin Boards for several years and those that visited those BB knew what was and what was not acceptable. For those that didn't, I told them along with warning them, and then if they did not comply with those rules? They were gone.

Hope you recovered fairly well from your experience the other day with Comcast. That whole thing seemed so unnecessary to me. I saw no reason why a tech representative wouldn't know when there is Network problem as opposed to 1 customer having an equipment issue.

I had to cancel my dental appt today because of straining my back yesterday. I put it off one week. They weren't happy about it, but I am not taking the chance of straining it further if I had to sit in one of those chairs today . . . I don't want to wind up in the ER.

You are right that when I first came here, I didn't quite understand your personality and thought you were a misogynist (LOL) whose purpose was to come here to talk down to women!! Over the years, I have realized that I misjudged you, and while I still don't always agree with you (as I am sure you don't always agree with me), I realized you meant no harm. Take this from a woman who had two failed marriages, and then met up with some male characters for the next twenty years. I had to become a pretty tough cookie to put up with them all. My last relationship of ten years (ending in the early 90s) was a sweet one with a sweet man. Unfortunately, my health issues interfered with our relationship and it ended. He was ten years younger than me and just didn't understand what I was going through. There has never been another. Now how's that for a confession?!!

As far as the banning thing, yes, I was shocked because I have never been a troublemaker, although I do sometimes defend myself from my little army of stalkers. And I have occasionally brought up some of the "forbidden topics," but usually in a small way, as was the one for which I was banned (for a day).

I am glad we are friends now. Smile

I got temporarily banned for something I might have said to anyone and I don't think it would have been a big deal, but it was the particular poster it was said to that got me the axe.

So I don't think it's necessarily what is said, but who it is said to. AND who is doing the saying.

Some of these people sound like they never outgrew being a ""tattletail"" regardless of whether was an incident or not.

How sad a life they must lead to want to give others grief.

Scottie, I agree. We're treated like children here, it's ridiculous.

Yes we are.

But...we also have a lot of self appointed board police/monitors who go out of their way to report anything they THINK shouldn't be posted......those report happy posters are a large part of the problem around here.

So very true and often without a real reason, I started a thread apologizing for being snarky and it was poofed, and I am still clueless why that happened

Someone must of taken offense.

Yes, and not only that, there are those that target posters they don't like.

I posted a shout-out using the online nic of a poster I like a lot, I asked her if she was OK, she'd mentioned something that made me worry about her.

It was taken down right away.
