Re: I find myself getting more and more irritated the longer

I have watched the Q since 1988 and was truly addicted to it.  Took vacation days from work to watch silver days and had withdrawal when they shut down on Christmas Eve. I could not wait till 8:00 a.m. the day after Christmas when they came back on the air.  I made sure when I moved into this house that QVC was available on my cable.  I bought everything from A to Z and always had the Q on when home from work.  Now that I am much older, not working, and have no need for anything they offer I hardly ever turn it on.  When I do I have it on, it is on mute. The hosts of years ago brought me so much joy even if I did not buy.  The crust of it all - this business is trying to maintain and stay young and it is painful to watch.  Boy, how I do miss the wonderful days of QVC of years gone by and am so fortunate I had that experience.

They have to go into Billy Mays mode in order to meet their sales targets.

I tried to watch Doris Dalton and Marlo...I just gave up with all the talking over each other. Will continue to order online........Smiley Mad

Marlo is probably my least favorite host on HSN.  She always seems to be talking over the other person whoever that might be.

lol when I used to sunbathe on the weekends and it was a fashion day I would pull out a tiny tv set on my patio so I could do both. hahaha

I know exactly what you mean!

I've watched since the 80's. A long time.

I find myself turning the sound off and just watching the presentation if it's something I'm interested in.

There is too much yelling and talking fast esp when the vendor and the host are on together.

Case in point tonight watching Doris Dalton and Sarah present the TS on HSN. It isn't relaxing anymore and I would like to relax and enjoy the show.

I am finding this happens more and more and I guess I've been here too long. Not half as often as I used to.

It's like a fight to see who can speak the loudest and the most.

I never cared for the high pressure selling tactics of HSN so never watched that channel.  Then, QVC started doing the same thing.  I haven't watched QVC for years.  I think the last shows I watched were with David Venable and Lisa Bearnson for a scrapbook show.  I check online to see what's new or deeply discounted.  If I'm interested, I order.

@luvmyteddy4

What you said reflects my own feelings several years back.

I found myself feeling annoyed, aggravated and anxious while watching something that had previously lifted my spirits.

It was then that I knew I had to break up with QVC and HSN.  I hated to do it because I had been a loyal customer for MANY years.

I kept it on for background...I looked forward to watching fashion days and Christmas programming always got me in the mood for the holiday.

Sadly, that's all gone and I just tuned out.

@Marp

Glad I'm not the only one.

I have never watched the "morning shows" or any show with multiple people hosting for that very reason.

Everyone yammering at once makes me scream at the TV.

So, I don't even turn it on. Cat LOL

Re: I find myself getting more and more irritated the longer

I always skip the food shows, and I can't take DV's happy dance one more time.  However, he must please the masses since he's still there doing the same thing over and over again.

I think the new sales tactic is fast and loud talking.  Even Marybeth talks louder and faster now.  LOL

I rarely tune in to watch anymore.  The Forums keep me coming back. Cat Very Happy
