Re: I don't know what to post anymore

[ Edited ]

I completely agree. There is nothing to post a comment about at all here.

I've been trying to be supportive of this new forums but its a dud. The moderation of topics is off the charts. People are civil and following all the "rules" and yet their posts and threads are still being deleted - without explanation on top of that.

Who would waste their time posting at such a forums where they're not even granted the courtesy of explanation when their items are deleted?

And then, you can't even ASK about that?

I have tried to keep most all of my posts polite as possible. I now rather regret any posts I made over the past couple of weeks "defending" this new moderation system.

But its gotten ridiculous, leaving people with zero of any real interest to talk about. You don't even need two dozen sub forums since one can barely discuss anything.

There are some posters I just do not like to see.  Their opinions and comments make me cringe.  They are like fingernails on the blackboard to me.  I would do everything I could to avoid them in RL.  The ignore button made it easier to do so here.  Nothing to do with standards.

Here here we go with the not so subtle jab about the ignore button.  Since it is not available posters will have to adhere to the standards or the mod will apparently do it for them.  The end.

It has nothing to do with adhering to standards.  Take my word for it.

Well I don't what that means Noel, but the alternative to those who can not seem to control themselves will at some point be removal from the community.  Nobody should be 'shamed' and harrassed here for opposing respectful feedback about a current event, nobody.  The hinting that some are bigoted, backwoods hillbillies is growing tiresome.

MrsSB,

You said it for me, thanks, that's how I feel, too.

John,

I agree with what you've said, fully realizing that we are in a controlled environment here.  However, the moderators are coming off somewhat  like police - Stasi - you get the drift?   And, as others have said, it is very off-putting to the extent that others have not only stopped posting, but have declared that they have stopped shopping QVC.

That's one reason I started the "Kindergarten" thread.  I wanted to see if that one would be A-OK to go.  So far, so good.  It's still "clean."  Seems kindergarten has remained apolitical to this point.

Yes, thank you. And before someone tries to tell me that I am unloved and unliked, I am sure there are quite a few that would love to put me on ignore.

LilacTree--------I know your "formally known as", so a happy Hi to you. I have never been one to start many threads, but always found a lot to say(too much for many). It is a shame that Headline News topics cannot be discussed/debated on this BB. Yesterday there was a very interesting thread about the 3 attacks in other countries. A Moderator even stepped in to say, "keep it nice", I am paraphrasing not quoting. I didn't see what I consider to be any "way out there" posts, but later returned to see that thread "poofed" and nary a reason given by that, or any, now visible Moderator. Maybe my post got it poofed, beats me! If the Moderators are going to be visible, I would like to know if my post was the reason for the "poof", there she goes. I don't care if they tell me right here on this Forum for all to see, would not be "offensive" to me. I would at least know I took something too far "out of their standards", which might enrich me about what I CAN say in some other news worthy discussions. I admit I lean to the Right, but that does not mean I am not willing to listen and/or learn from those with differing idiologies. I hope tjis post of mine does not go "past their acceptable standards", and if so? Moderators!!! PLEASE just remove my post, and I will thank you.

Hi John, sorry you had to change your nic.  I didn't have to change mine, it just became too toxic on this BB . . . although it does seem as though most of those folks have gone elsewhere.

Nice to hear from you and hope all is well.
