@SportyShorty07 You have such a positive outlook. I can't believe something wonderful isn't waiting for you around the corner......Best of luck to you!

@CANDLEQUEEN  Thank you so very much, Candlequeen! You know, I went into this thinking I'd get the job, but a tiny part of me had to be prepared for this shocking news and I would push doubts away in my mind because I really thought that I had this in the bag.  Its a big blow to me, but I'll make it through, I will! Smiley Happy

As for my thoughts towards my city's decision to not hire me:

It says they look at your credit history also, I'm sure that is fine just another option?

@SportyShorty07.  Here's an idea....I've long thought QVC and other retailers should market a line of really good, large gourmet popcorn balls.   They were a treasured tradition at Christmas in my family.  We all gathered to make them but dad did most of the work as his were the only hands tough enough to stand up to the blistering hot syrup.  I bet that could be done by machine now.

I can envision different flavors in festive packaging.  I could eat one right now.

Re: I didn't get the job

@Sooner  Thank you so much, Sooner! Those are wonderful tips that I will definitely consider.  I was in touch with recruiters who were very excited about me, even cops who were retired who reassured me through our phonecalls that the department would be crazy not to hire me! I'll try to look into careers that could get me closer to this one- good idea Smiley Happy

@beckyb1012  Thank you very much for rooting for me! We do have a highway patrol- I'll deinfitely research that too. I have to believe that this is a blessing in disguise- maybe I need more time to get this job or maybe I have different paths that I now have time to explore.  We will see Smiley Happy

MY guess.....being under 5'

You could get very hurt taking down a 6' 4" bad guy.  if height is an issue..they should have spelled it out in the initial presentation.

@fthunt  They really should've spelled it out for me! The irony is, when I was a wrestler in high school, I was one of the only girls and I won matches against guys in practice who were anywhere from 5'8" to above 6' - I'm small and mighty Smiley Very Happy.  I told the investigator that I'm surprisingly strong for my height.

@Mersha  Unfortunately I didn't get to take the polygraph, since that's at the end of background investigations after they narrow the selection pool down.   I'm certain I would've passed it since I have nothing to lie about and I always tell the truth. Smiley Happy

@Allthingsgirly67  That's a good idea! The only problem with the CIA atleast in my city is the cut off age is 36 and I'm going to be 36 in about 7 months.  I could consider that for sure- good idea Smiley Happy

@riley1  Thank you very much for your words! A court officer is a good idea too- I'm going to look into what that might require in terms of experience.
