Re: I didn't get the job

[ Edited ]

@SportyShorty07   I acknowledge your disappointment and yes, it's hard.  I know how that feels.  In between working full time and raising 4 kids, I was also going to school part time. It took me 10 years to get my Bachelors and Masters degrees.  I started college at  35.  When I graduated, I was promised (by a supervisor who left), a job where I was already working - I didn't get it.  A coworker got it.  I was so upset...I worked so hard and well, really thought I was going to get it.  HOWEVER, another job came open in a different category and I was able to get it.  23 years later, I'm still in it and I love it.  The girl who got the other job still has it and is miserable.

Trust that you will find something you eventually enjoy.  It may be hard to think about that now, but it will come.    We have mentioned to each other before about the art world, as my son is an artist.  He followed his passion and while he's not the richest in dollars, he is in his heart.  Best of luck 😉

@SportyShorty07 I am profoundly saddened to read this post!😔 We do not interact frequently, but I have read of your desire to join the academy and the hard work you have diligently put in!❤ Reading of your denial, breaks my heart!💔 I echo ALL of the WONDERFUL sentiments of support already expressed, and would like to add a famous quote by Dr. King-- "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose finite HOPE"!!💝 You have an amazing spirt of fortitude that WILL be rewarded!!👍👍 Keep shining✨ because the next highly DESIRED opportunity will knock on your door when you LEAST expect it; just be ready to answer!🥰

This is preparing you for the GREATNESS that IS yet to be your destiny! Relax! Rewind! Reflect!🤗

@SportyShorty07  - I am so sorry to read that you didn't get into the police academy.  Know it's a hard blow and crying about it is fine.  Agree with others that the right opportunity for you will come along and with your positive attitude, I can't wait to see what it is!

Well, no doubt you are disappointed and mad.  I would be, too.  But something tells me that there's something even BETTER coming for you!  So hang in there!!!  It's coming!!!

@LdyBugz  Thank you very much for your sweet words!  I cried when I read the news- but I will absolutely hang in there and I'm looking forward to where my life takes me.  When one door closes another opens!

I immediately thought of the song "Unanswered Prayers". God has something bigger and better for you @SportyShorty07   One day you will look back and know.

Best of luck to you in whatever your next endeavor will be. I am more than sure that you will shine bright. Hugs

@qvcfreak  Thank you so much and you are so right- just like the lyrics to Unanswered Prayers, "Sometimes I thank God for some unanswered prayers. Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs. That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care.  Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." That song is profound and a delight to listen to- it makes my eyes brim with tears and warms my heart.  God bless you! Heart  I think that my prayers were unsanswered in terms of getting the career, but God listened to me the whole time because He gave me the strength to go through this whole journey and that is a true gift in and of itself regardless of the outcome. Heart I thank God everyday!

@PickyPicky3   Thank you so much for your support! I think that that is a wonderful idea- I think I could greatly benefit form taking a breather from the police career dream and go to vocational counseling. I can learn about my strengths and weaknesses in regards to work and find some guidance for my next career steps.  Thank you very much Smiley Happy

@bmorechick  Thank you very much for your kind words! I am so proud of you for pursuing your career and getting your Bachelor's and Masters degrees- you've worked so hard in your life and have made a differenc in your career and touched many lives! In your case of your coworker getting the job that you initally wanted after graduation, it was a blessing in disguise even though you deserved that job.  Oh yes, I do remember talking about your very talented and wonderful son Smiley Happy. I commend him for going after his dreams, artists forge their own path in life that may not be the richest at times, but it is truly an abundance of wealth in terms of creating beauty in the world and positively impacting others! Heart

i'm sorry you did not get the job.  my suspicion is much of this is internal politics.  they can't tell you because that would be exposure.  they cannot blatantly discriminate.  if you push the envelope you could go to the media.  especially if the LE is starved for applicants. and you got passed over.

have you ever taken a Myers-Briggs evaluation?   you have a lot to offer and why work for someone else!  do something with your art and cooking! you can be an entrepreneur!

@SandySparkles  Thank you so very much for such kind words! I must tell you- your signature pink font and the thoughtful words you say in forums each day truly brighten my day and the days of so many others- you radiate kindness and have such a sweet and open heart.  Thank you for your kindness Heart.  That Dr. King quote is profound and thought provoking! I will relax, rewind and reflect and get ready to accept and welcome my destiny wherever it takes me and no matter how long it takes me.  Thank you and thank you to everyone- I've never cried from happiness before in my life until I read the outpouring of kindness from everyone on here.  It means the world to me Smiley HappyHeartHeart
