I am confident that whatever you chose to do you will be magnificent! If you decide to peruse the cooking route and you need a taste tester I'm here for you girl!😊
your last line sums up everything! You got this. I'm inspired by you. I super proud of you!
@Franklinbell Thank you so very much for such sweet words
! I really gave it my all and then some- and I honestly didn't think I would be rejected form the selection process, but life throws curveballs and I've got to walk tall. Oh you and everyone would be delightful taste testers- my caramel popcorn, kettle corn, boston cream pie, crinkle cookies, spritz cookies- so many treats to bake! I'm proud of you and everyone too- thank you! You ladies have lived such great and admirable lives- raising families, enjoying well deserved retirements, working great and meaningful jobs. You're all my inspiring and loving QVC family!

@Kachina624 Good point- At 4'11" maybe my stature could be a barrier to a career in law enforcement, but pound for pound in muscle and sheer determination, I think I make the most of every inch
! I know there are some female cops who are around my height in my city, so it can be done. I'm at a loss as to why I didn't make the cut, especially since I have an athletic backgrond in wrestling, boxing and 80's aerobics VHS tapes
.

@SportyShorty07 - sorry you didn't get the job after so much of your time and effort. Maybe you could apply to be a court officer? Good Luck with whatever you decide - riley1

@SportyShorty07 , I'm so sorry you didn't get in. How incredibly disappointing. But depending on the area it was probably a blessing in disguise that you didn't get in. As well-intentioned and as good of an officer as you would have been in many areas here the officers' hands are tied. So stressful and thankless.
A dear friend's dd was having a rough time finding a job in her desired field. Took months. But the absoute perfect one came along, exactly what she wanted. So don't give up hope and faith.
It sounds like you have so much to offer in so many different areas you will have many options. It should be fun to explore those options in front of you.

@monicakm Thank you so very much, Monicakm
! I've considered investigation- I think I ultimately wanted to get this job and become a police interrogator. I'ma good listener and I think people tell me the truth easily. If I pursue my culinary career, I'd be willing to be a sous chef and work my way up- I've always liked prepping ingredients when I cook meals each day
. Another option is creating my own line of popcorn- I taught myself how to make different kinds of savory or sweet and candied popcorns from scratch during the pandemic and everyone loves my popcorn, especially my ketlle and caramel corn. Who know- but big dreams and goals are ahead!

@Trailrun23 Those are some fantastic ideas, thank you! It sounds like your borhter in law foun a very reawrding career change after his hours were cut- another sign that life leads us in the right direction
. I could apply in two years to smaller law enforcement agencies to see if this dream could happen.

@CANDLEQUEEN Thank you so very much, Candlequeen! You know, I went into this thinking I'd get the job, but a tiny part of me had to be prepared for this shocking news and I would push doubts away in my mind because I really thought that I had this in the bag. Its a big blow to me, but I'll make it through, I will! ![]()
As for my thoughts towards my city's decision to not hire me:
