Why do posters watch commercials especially when they find them so horrible? Just flip over to QVC for a few minutes.

I've done that, too, and now that person is gone.

I couldn't believe that person was there for as long as they were.

@proudlyfromNJ    I'm sure there's some sort of deal with the station and whoever owns this franchise.  They sell it to sucker TV stations.  Its called "Local Steals and Deals" if you want to Google it.

@Kachina624

We have "Steals and Deals" but its one of the local news gals that does ours....perhaps LR was too expensive....😉

ITA about the annoying commercials, especially the ones they show over and over constantly everyday. The worst to me are the prescription med ones that use a popular song for their annoying ads like Skyrizi and Ozempic.

@KKJ

Yes, those pharmacuetical ads are so annoying especially some of the music but the one that irrritates me the most is the one where just one piano note is hit the entire time the commercial is running ARRRGGHHHHH!!!! 😫

@Spurt   That's why Lisa's people probably added the "local".  There's nothing local about the junk she pushes.  If you Google "Local Steals and Deals", you can see some of her ads.

What was their response? I believe most of the commercials like this are put on by whatever parent Network with which these local stations are affiliated.

I have to believe that local stations can only control commercials of local businesses or other entities. If they cannot sell enough time to local commercials, they financially have to go with the ones their Network runs.

Might try calling or emailing the Network itself. I have done this myself many times over the years. I got the necessary information from the local channels, and they were happy to do so.

My belief has and still is this. When you want to really try to get results, you have to converse with ones that are in the position to make changes. Preferably by phone, otherwise in the next best way possible. That was/is my approach.

It sure seems that way. I can tell you this from my own experience. There are several Network shows that are 1 hour.

I have downloaded many of them "On Demand". Have found that many of them do not have the commercials, and are 42-43 minutes in length. My math says that leaves 17-18 minutes for commercials, which equates to over 25% of those hour shows.

@proudlyfromNJ   Then they will come here to complain about the host.
