Re: I Knew I Was of a Different Generation When _____________ (Fill in the blank. I'll start...)

HI! I just got back here -- am enjoying reading all of your posts, and identifying too!

About being of another generation -- I even remember when I first heard a server in a restaurant say "No problem!" in response to me saying "Thank you!" At that point I thought it was the funniest thing, of course now I'm used to it. Smiley Happy

Solar....some people say "Absolutely" in the same manner as No Problem....the proper response is "You're Welcome"....I don't get why they don't simply say You're Welcome....yes..must be a generational thing too.

.........about 6 years after marrying my ex. He is 7 years older than me.

He was from the Doo Wop generation....I'm from the Hippie generation.

. . . I made a comment about ""hooking up"" with a friend and my children burst out laughing. I told them it meant something different in the ""old"" days!

While helping a teen looking for library books about John Lennon, I pulled one book off the shelf about the Beatles & the teen, looking astonished, commented, "John Lennon was a Beatle?"

I work with children ages three to ten on the weekends at our local grocery store. We have coloring contests every month and when I ask them for their info name, age and phone number they all say "I don't have a phone yet.". That really makes me chuckle.

Yikes, does that mean we may soon have to have "no texting while triking" laws?{#emotions_dlg.scared} Do kids even ride tricycles any more?

When my daughter could sing along to rap songs (every word) and I had no idea what she was saying. When I came to the conclusion that a lot (not all but a lot) of the music out today is really bad.

When I attended a college football game in my twenties and the football players/cheerleaders looked so young!
