@Anonymous032819, I bet you looked great. You would be an excellent hostess. You obviously have nice manners, look good and have the skills to learn what's needed for either job.
I know your first choice is the busser position. The manager might think you are over qualified for that job but a good candidate for hostess. He has your resume and sees your educational and employment history. I think it could be a factor to one's thinking that you might not stay very long. Anyway, fingers crossed for you to get an offer!!

Sounds like you did everything right and I seem to think that you looked so good that he thought you were being interviewed for the hostess. Hope you get the job you want but if they offer you hostess, you may consider that too. Love the idea about the thank you note. You really carried the process out with class from start to finish. I will be checking in to see how you did.

I'll take whichever job I am offered.
I have never been a hostess, so I would have to learn how to do that job.
And I also to Chris that before I was working where I am now, that I worked at Sears for 18 years, and that seemed to impress him, that I am not a here today, gone tomorrow employee.

Although I'm not responsible for ultimate hiring decisions, in our department, I've done many interviews.
A prompt thank you note, brief, polite and professional, always makes a good impression.
Best of luck, to you!

Best foot forward, for sure.
My DS was just hired for a new job a couple of weeks ago. Like you, he researched the new job at length and made a great impression at both Virtual interviews.

Congratulations on getting out there and showing your best self. The “thank you” note is a very nice touch. I bet the interviewer will be surprised and it will set you apart. Best to you.
