No howling where I live, No surprise. I personally think it would be a great release of tension, just for 5 minutes. But we live in a very conservative town, very New England. Don’t think it would fly here.

While I think the idea is funny, I imagine it wouldn't be amusing to parents who just put their babies down, and nearby wildlife.
Or my former cats... ![]()
(But i'd probably do it once, for a fun release of emotion.)

I think that would be a bit inconsiderate, noisy, and disturb people ..... rile up kids that parents were trying to keep calm....and yes bother pets too..... It reminds me of the "scream therapy" that was a fad back in the 80's .....glad that fad died! Hope this one does too....
There has to be better way to release tension....do jumping jacks, pushups, jog in place, yoga etc etc....

It would have terrified me as a child. If I lived alone, especially if I were elderly, it would make me nervous as well.

While howling may have it's downside it is better than the scary sight of seeing someone streaking. I was teenager during that fad and still thought the whole thing was just bizarre. Never heard of howling but out in the country or if the whole neighborhood is participating it might work well.

If I didn't know what everyone else was doing and I heard that in my neighborhood, I'd think everyone had finally cracked. And I'd probably join in.

To all you Ladies worried about the noise - it lasted all of probably 2 mins and if you are indoors with t,v. on you would not hear much noise unless you came outside so I do not think anyone was ‘terrified’.
In fact, lots of people on decks all calling and waving kind of nice to see someone as during day there is no-one around now at all - roads totally empty.
We are not apartments but detached houses, big lots, wide roads, lots of trees a valley noise does not travel much here.

Howling? Like dogs? At 8:00 at night? I hate to say it but that is just plain rude. Doesn't all the real dogs start barking? I definitely would not want that happening in my neighborhood. Prefer the peace and quiet so I can listen to the birds.

Holy cow that would annoy the life out of me! Noise pollution.
