Re: How old is your cell phone?

I think mine is 5 years old, an old slide phone with the qwerty keyboard.

I really don't want or need a smartphone but may not have a choice when this one finally does decide to bite the dust.  When we went to get one for my husband, they didn't make the slide anymore, all they had were flip or smart and he wasn't interested in having to hit #2 three times to get the letter C - etc.  Besides that the flip was more expensive than a smart phone which was free because we were adding another line.

I have the IPhone X. Had it about a month and a half or so. I am on the iPhone Forever Plan so I get the newest one every year.

Oh my!

I thought that was a joke...but it’s a real thing!

Goggle is pointing to Sprint, yes?

I’m an ATT girl, but love the name of the plan.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

Less than 2 years old.  Both my husband and I had simple flip phones in the past and they were enough for the purpose they served.   My husband still has his flip phone.

However, as my teacher daughter has advanced in her career, and is traveling more for trainings and conferences, and with my trucker daughter driving to the farthest corners on the west coast, I need a phone that allows me to be in contact with them.

Mine is a year old  Samsung Galaxy S7.  I only got it because my 4 year old S3 needed to be replaced.  I really don't feel the need to always upgrade and have the latest and greatest.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

Dh and I both have the Galaxy S7 Edge.  We got them in December, 2016.  Prior to that I had the S4.   I had to get a new battery in it because it was going through the battery like crazy.  Now this newest phone doesn't have a changeable battery.

The cost of cell phones is nuts to me if you want one of the better brands.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

For many years, since 1994 anyway, I had the not-smart phones and would keep my phone for years.

I only got my first smart phone last year (so it's less than 1yr old - Samsung Galaxy S7) because my confusion-type problems were getting worse and my husband wanted me to have something with more technology so I could just drop him a line when I went somewhere and got home, etc.

But I pretty much still use it just as a phone.   With phones, unlike some electronics, I never really upgraded much.

The Galaxy S8 was just coming out when I got my S7 and I really only considered it for a hot second.   It was considerably more $ and I didn't need newer.   This one was new when I bought it and that's good for me.  Smiley Happy

Now the S9 is out and it looks like a beauty.  But I'd probably be mad at myself, being me, if I rejected the one I have in lieu of a newer model already.   I want to get my money's worth out of this one first.

I'm with Sprint and they seem bigger and bigger on just getting the phone, paying like a rental fee (lease? - anyway, same thing, IMO) until you get the next one.  I just wanted to pay the money, get the phone, and not be in debt to it.   YMMV and that's cool, of course.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note -- yep, just Note and no numbers after that. It's probably about 5 or 6 years old now. Paid for it upfront. I've upgraded the OS as much as I can and it can't be updated any more. Many apps don't work on it as they require a certain version of OS that I don't have. That's irritating at times, but I can call/text/email/web/photo just fine for my everyday needs.

I don't plan to change phones anytime soon - am quite happy with it through AT&T.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus I purchased in August of last year.  Prior to that I had an iPhone 4.  I only upgraded because the 4 would not update my apps.  It was six years old when I traded.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

I’ve had my smartphone for about 2 years. My son got an IPhone last year & loves it.I’m thinking about getting one over the summer.

My service provider is Boostmobile. We have a family plan.DH, son & myself & it only costs $90 per month for the 3 .That comes with unlimited calls, texts & data!! Love the service & the price!! I’ve been using them for the past 8 years. No contract & whenever I notice they have a better deal I call & get switched over.No hassles!
