@jlkzwrote:
While their eyes may stay on the road, their mind is not totally where it should be...on traffic and what other drivers may be doing.
Definitely not the way to go...unsafe at any speed.
Their mind is not totally where it should be...texting,
Or looking at a map
Or looking at the pretty girl wearing short shorts.
Or looking at the radio display...’what channel is this?’
Or looking at the kids in the back seat.
Or looking for your sunglasses in the console
Or looking/getting upset over the car following too close
Or thinking about the current fight w/ the spouse that morning
‘Distraction’ has many different guises & multi-layered.

I have an iPhone 6s ... it's about 2 years old. I got a free tableet when I got the phone. I've had AT&T service for almost 20 years.

I use my iPad for everything I need. My old cell phone goes with us on the road, but I don't carry it otherwise. Why pay monthly fee? I know that us the minority view, but when I left my corporate job, I was sooooooo happy NOT to have to be tethered to everyone 24/7.

My iphone is a 6s and I have had it for about 1 1/2 years. I had the battery replaced a couple of months ago when Apple was offering a $29.00 replacement. ($79.00 value!)
Before the 6s, I had a 5 model. I will replace it when it is no longer able to receive the software updates.

I had a Samsung flip phone for 8 years for emergencies only. I noticed I was barely getting any bars anymore. Come to find out--my phone was 2G, and TMobile wasn't supporting that anymore.
New flip phones cost almost as much as the least expensive smartphone!
I got a new LG off eBay, bought new SIM and SD cards, and now I am in the 21st century!

Yep, my mom still has her cyclops flip phone circa 2007. She calls it her "dumbphone" whenever anyone asks. Virgin Mobile plan requires you buy $20 every 90 days to keep account active.
On the other hand, my BIL always has to have the latest and greatest so he's constantly tradin in his phone for a new one. My 14-yo nephew inherited the last one (for emergencies only, as he has a lot of extracurricular activities).

DH and I both have Tracfones which are less than 2 years old. These may be the last phones sold on the Q with triple minutes. We plan to hold on to these phones for as long as we can.

I have an old flip phone that still works! I use it only for texting. Have never given the number out.
Comcast sent me a free i-Pad when I moved here. I gave it to my youngest daughter and she gave it away too!
