I have noticed some of the host and vendors on QVC (including Martha Stewart) say worter

Guilty - I also pronounce it 'worter'. I grew up in NJ, maybe it's a NE thing, I am not sure.

Is this a trick question? LOL
Oh you mean with an accent. LOL

How do other people pronounce it?

I definitely don't say "worter".

I am from the Philly area. We drink "worter". We eat "worter ice" all summer. We "worter" our lawns and plants.

I say "water"....like "wad - ter." I know....It doesn't have a "d" in it. I'm Southern--but I don't know if this is a Southern thing or not.....
