PetCo Foundation has committed $2.3 million to help animals affected by Hurricane Harvey, so I donated to them after that hurricane. I went to see if they have anything similar for Irma, and apparently they don't. Where can I donate to help the animals affected by Irma? I went to GreaterGood.com and didn't see anything specifically about pets. I wouldn't know where to begin to look for a shelter in an affected area. I usually donate to the Red Cross after a disaster but wanted to specifically help the animals this time.

@NickNack I've been considering donating to an organization that helps animals without large administrative fees; where the money goes directly to helping the animals at our shelters. Thanks for the information and question.

After Harvey I donated to Wings of Rescue. I'm not sure if they are doing anything for after Irma or not.
I haven't done anything yet because I haven't looked into it. I did watch the Hand in Hand event last night and they said that donations made will help people and animals.
ETA: I just took a look at the WOR website and they are helping out for both hurricanes so I will make another donation to them.

I donated to the Red Cross to help people and I also donated to the Seattle Humane Society to help them with the expenses of the hundreds of animal they took in from the shelters in Texas. I have not heard anything about the animals in Irma.

If you're looking to donate to help animals I support SPCA.
I have no relationship, nor do I receive any payment from them.

I donated to Petsmart Charities. When I did, they had a drop down list to direct your donation to either the general fund or hurricane relief. You may want to check them out and see if that's still available.

Many shelters in the southeast are taking in the pets to help out.
Also pet rescues in the area are doing the same.
It's ironic that Florida organizations took in pets from Texas, I wonder how they are making out?
I've heard good things about an organization called Best Friends.

Thank you @Laura14. I just checked, and they mention Harvey but not Irma. That would have been a good choice.

Thank you @software. I've heard good things about Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, too. I just went to their website, and they're helping both Harvey and Irma. When you click to donate, it doesn't tell you specifically where your donation will go though. I want mine to go to Irma. I wish you could choose.
Edited to say: I posted further down that I checked their website again, and you can donate specifically to Irma. I did that. Thank you very much for mentioning them. I think they're a good organization. I've heard about them for years.

@software I just checked the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary site again, and they do have a way to donate specifically to Harvey or Irma. I donated to them. Thank you so much for mentioning them.
