On Tuesday, AAA reported that the average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. is $4.173. This is a new record high, surpassing the previous record of $4.103 set in 2008.

When we left yesterday morning gas was at $3.49.  On the way home it had risen to $3.69.  In two hours.

Keeping in mind gas stations would have variable prices but now all gas stations are at the same price.

We do not drive very much but we are cutting back even more. 

I'm not so optimistic about "this too shall pass". 

All the "one door closes another one opens" is fine but right now it is pure heck for some waiting in the hall for it to happen. 

It is not so easy to be optimistic when folks, either with children or not, lived hand to mouth before this.  And now??

East Texas lowest grade gas is at $3.75.

I'm in a suburb of Cleveland.  When I went to work yesterday morning, most gas was $3.74.  When I came home from work, it was $4.09.  Apparently there is a gas station in Cleveland that is $4.99.

Just checked my local Sam's Club.  It's $3.76.  However, it doesn't make sense for me to drive there to save .33.  They aren't super close.

Last Wed. it was $4.00.. today it was $4.39..Can't wait to see what it is on Fri.! NOT..In upstate NY.

Local radio station today said gas had gone up here 51 cents over the past week.

Today it's $4.05,  I bought yesterday for $3.99.

@SeaMaiden Gas prices in north Mississippi went to $3.969 this morning.  Yesterday it was $3.869, where it stops.......NOBODY KNOWS.
